Looking back, it’s almost symbolic that our first piece together was of two koi fish, which encapsulate the Chinese philosophy.
Without Yin, there would be no Yang, and without Yang, there would be no Yin. Sometimes one force dominates, sometimes the other. However, both sides always complement each other to bring about a new type of perfection.
This artwork was completed at the International Meeting of Styles, a world-renowned graffiti/street art event. At this point we were still just good friends getting to know each other. But as we stood before the blank wall in front of us, letting our ideas grow together and fill the space, we felt that this might be the start of something new. We encouraged each other to step outside of our comfort zones artistically: It was both of our first times painting not with spray paint, but with acrylics and brushes. It was also our first time painting a signature house wall on a bigger scale.
